Tractor trailer went the wrong way down Hemenway Street in the Fenway

Wrong-way big rig on Hemenway Street

The intersection of Hemenway and Norway streets is shut thanks to the driver of an 18-wheeler, who turned onto Hemenway from Boylston, even though Hemenway is a one-way street into Boylston, then tried to turn onto Norway Street, sideswiping several cars and coming to a halt as police tried to figure out how to get the stuck rig out. Brian the roving UHub photographer shows us the scene.

A heavy-duty tow was summoned around 3:30 p.m.

Another day, another truck kept from its appointed rounds by a Storrow Drive bridge, as Katie Arsenault shows us. For some reason, that bridge looks familiar.

UPDATE: Tree removed, service resumed.

The T is shutting the Green Line between Fenway and Reservoir at 11 a.m. so workers can remove a large tree that is now leaning dangerously close to the overhead wires near Reservoir. Expect a two-hour shutdown.

Because substitute bus service will be limited, customers are strongly encouraged to use the closest stations along the Green Line’s C branch (Beacon Street).

Bus service will be available for persons with disabilities at Reservoir and Kenmore Stations.

PRI interviews a Finnish landscape architect about everything that's wrong with the Emerald Necklace.

Ed. note: Interesting article, but it sounds like she doesn't know anything about the Muddy River reclamation project and didn't spend any time south of Rte. 9.

And all it takes is for another music venue to die. Boston Restaurant Talk reports Copperfield's in the Fenway will be shutting down by year's end to make way for a Tilted Kilt, which is sort of like Hooter's, except the servers wear what look like remnants from a tartan-factory explosion, rather than T-shirts and shorts.
