Are you kidding? If they had to take all the nuns and orphans in Eastie off of life support so that Logan Airport could maintain their cocktails chilled, we'd be rolling in habits and little shoes.
When it comes to Massport and Eastie, powerless is the word.
(Actually I'm sure they have all sorts of back-up generators out there to keep essential services running during low level power drop-outs like this. I just like hyperbole.)
Lights went out on Eagle Hill long enough for the clocks to start blinking, but that was it.
THE POWER WENT OUT AROUND NINE, THEN CAME BACK ON THEN WENT OFF AGAIN AROUND TEN. THEN ON AND OFF, THEN OFF AND STAYED OFF MOST OF THE NIGHT. NSTAR BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!
The power cycled off and on at least three times in the Jefferies Point section. Swear there was an NStar employee watching me reset the clocks and when I did the last on, he would turn off the power. This morning while driving to work passed a semi truck with two big generators parked on Orleans street. Think I'll go buy a battery operated alarm clock after work.
Battery-powered alarm clocks are the best if you don't want to be late. The battery-backup circuit in my AC powered one didn't work once, so I don't trust those. The first time I'm late, that's more than the cost of a new alarm clock.
The ones that have passive LCD displays that are not normally lit will run much longer on battery than the ones with LED or LCD displays that are always lit. Years rather than months.

Who wants to wager that it won't be back on until Wednesday at the earliest? This is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Orient Heights/Wood Island
Orient Heights/Wood Island area had flickering lights around 9:30 last night...turned off the ac and other essentials but luckily we kept our power.
I am also in Orient Heights
I am also in Orient Heights but up by the shrine. We had flickers around 9:30 then full on power outage until somewhere in the 11:30-12 range.
