Before the tunnel closes this summer … then all we can hope for is a garden variety Storrowing.

So trucks of this nature have been going through the tunnel for decades now with no issues.

Did the height standards of these trucks increase of are the measurements of the tunnel height off a little? Different company but let's remember the track width issue on the GLX.

Could the height be off somewhat? Might we need to make adjustments?

My grandmother was driving in the Sumner tunnel and had a panic attack. She stopped the car and could not drive again. A truck driver had to get out of a truck to drive the car through the tunnel. My Dad was one of the 3 kids in the back seat. Then the truck driver had to walk back to this truck.

This was maybe 1957 or 58. I can't imagine the traffic.

Bridge anxiety isn't uncommon. Some people are understandably driven from anxiety to panic after the Key Bridge incident.

There are bridges that offer the service of people who will drive you and your car so that you don't panic/freeze if you have that problem. The Chesapeake Bay and Mackinac bridges have people who charge $10 to drive you from one end to the other. They go back and forth all day. Mackinac drivers also take pedestrians and cyclists and their bike/gear for a fee. https://www.mackinacbridge.org/fares-traffic/transport-services/

like once a month now. MassDOT needs to do something substantial on 1A south. The drivers and companies also need to be facing massive fines.
