I remember the first tank as one of those huge dark things covered in steel trusses. Then the small white one came along (later painted by Kent).

Of course that's when we were riding woolly mammoths up Route 3.

After they tore it down, Boston Gas (or was it Keyspan by then?) repainted it on the remaining tank.

i remember the first tank also, it was of the type that collapsed inside of the frame as it emptied and rose back up when filled. they used to be common but i haven't seen one in a while now.
