Tina Fey shows the way. Counter protest the Tea Party.

Tina Fey reprised her impression of Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live" while hosting the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday night. It was Fey's first performance as the former Alaska governor since her iconic impressions during the 2008 presidential campaign when Palin was the Republican vice presidential candidate.

Fey appeared as Palin in a sketch introducing a mock "Sarah Palin Network," satirizing Palin's entry into media. Palin recently launched the program "Real American Stories" on Fox News Channel and will soon begin production on "Sarah Palin's Alaska," an eight-part series for TLC. link

Sarah Palin is slated to be in Boston Common Wednesday for the Tea Party Express “Just Vote Them Out!’’ tour — a cross-country rally that will end with a protest in Washington on tax day, April 15. This is the first time the tour is coming to Boston, home of the original tea party, and activists are expecting thousands of fired-up activists to attend.

But keep an eye out in the crowd: There may be some misfits afoot.

Conservative talk-show host Sean Hannity warned Friday about a rogue website that’s encouraging mischief-makers to crash tea party rallies. How will they infiltrate?

“Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the tea party in ways which exaggerate their least-appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public’s opinion of them,’’ suggests the site, called crashtheteaparty.org.

On her return to Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey resurrected her Sarah Palin impression to once again lampoon the ex-Alaskan governor. And, well, don't look for the ex-governor to turn up anytime soon as a guest on 30 Rock.

Wearing a classic Palin updo, a black leather jacket, and an American flag pin, Fey previewed a new slate of programming on the fake Sarah Palin Network. The programs included Tea Party Wheel of Fortune, Are you Smarter Than a Half-Term Governor, Dateline: To Catch a Levi Johnston, and Hey Journalist, I Gotcha!, which used re-edited news footage to show Palin outsmarting Katie Couric.

Not to be outdone in the comedy realm, Newt Gingrich told CNN's Candy Crowley yesterday that Ms. Palin was a "frontier person" and "a total feminist."

Also appearing on CNN with Ms. Crowley: Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who found it necessary to mention that it "goes without saying" slavery is bad.
