Man already facing attempted-murder charges latest to be charged with Red Line beatings
UPDATE: The DA's office reports Capuzzo was not arraigned today. He instead faces a clerk's hearing to determine whether authorities have probable cause for a criminal complaint. A date has not yet been set for that hearing.
Michael Capuzzo, 20, of South Boston is scheduled for arraignment today for his alleged involvement in a Red Line brawl that sent a man to the hospital, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Capuzzo is no stranger to law enforcement.
On New Year's Eve, 2011, he allegedly sliced up five people at a Milton home when he and about 30 of his friends were denied entrance to a New Year's party there.
Capuzzo has yet to come to trial on those charges.
The Suffolk DA's office says he also is awaiting trial in South Boston District Court on a charge of illegal weapons possession.
Four other suspects were arraigned on Monday for allegedly stomping a man on a train entering Broadway and several Rhode Island teenagers who tried to come to the man's aid.
Innocent, etc.

Shaking My Head...
If he gets released back to the streets today there is something majorly wrong with our court system. This offense should have him jailed until arraignment.
How can you jail someone
until you know whether or not he actually committed the offense in question?

Huh?
Many people are held in jail until they face arraignment for whatever crime they are accused of committing. And since this appears to be the third crime he is accused of committing I say lock him up until his first court date.

"On New Year's Eve, 2011, he allegedly sliced up five people"
Slices up five people, still out on the streets terrorizing.
What's up with that, District Attorneys? Now that he has even less to lose, should I expect to run into this kid on the train tomorrow?
Problem isn't DA's it is the
Problem isn't DA's it is the judges.
Two Words
Elect judges. Because the ones being appointed don't ride the train.
Bail was $10,000 after his arrest: http://boston.cbslocal.com/2012/01/02/southie-man-arrested-in-milton-new....
That's legit but in MA you can go to a higher court and get your bail reduced. I've never seen a DA agree to that unless they think the guy is innocent, so you can bet it was a judge who walked this kid out the door.
Nah
because he's a 'good kid', and 'turning his life around', now that he has a baby daughter or some such shit.
On a side note, are you shitting me? Dangerous 'thugs' worse than this guy have been released back into the 'community' for the past 50 years, often early and often with 'progressive' advocate support.

Wrong Information
He was not charged, arrested or arraigned for anything to do with the red line attacks. Go to the courthouse and check. The media is wrong.
From the DA's office
They sent this out this morning:
Confused
This whole thing is a total cluster.
Now they attacked 5 teens and an older man? I thought it was the older man and the two young women who tried to break it up? Where'd these 5 new victims come from?
More teens than initially reported
The 2 initial teens were part of a group of 5 teens. All of them were allegedly attacked.
I hope Mayor Walsh is planning...
... to give certificates of commendation (or some such) to the five valorous Rhode Island teen-agers.
Yes, I'd be proud to have
Yes, I'd be proud to have those girls as neighbors!
Update
See the original post: Capuzzo was not arraigned today, but the DA's office still wants to charge him.
