After the devastating West Roxbury Chinese restaurant fire, one would think that other restaurants would be moved to check out their exhaust systems. Is there a law that requires this? There should be.
They redefine the concept of extracting as much money while putting as little in as they can.
Case and point, I don't think the ketchup/mustard bottles have been cleaned since they opened- they're disgusting, as is just about anything you touch.
I've been there half a dozen times, and the last 3-4 times, my burger was overdone on one side, and underdone on the other....big time. That's inexcusable for a place where it's all they cook. Oh, and the fries are the cheap shit frozen kind.
There are way better places to get a good, fast, cheap burger in town. U-Burger, for example...
I've been eating at Bartley's for years and I've yet to get a clunker of a burger. Sorry to see you've had the streak there. (Well, not so sorry if it's meant me and my pals got to eat well.)
Flat Patties, Charlies Kitchen and Leos Place all have great burgers but agree with bunch of others that Bartlees is the best. Harvard Square, in my opinion, is the best place to get a burger. The pizza places arent half bad either! French fries on the other hand always kind of dissapoint, maybe its the Cambridge trans fat ban, but most of my burger time over there was well before that hit the books.
If your looking for a perfectly done burger with a little class try Z Square and get it with some apple smoked bacon :)
