Four-alarm fire displaces 16 in Dorchester

The Boston Fire Department reports a fire called in around 5:40 p.m. in a three-family house at 29 Alpha Rd. went to four alarms before it was brought under control.
No injuries were reported; the Red Cross has been called in to help the 10 adults and six children displaced by the fire find a place to stay.
The department reports on the cause:
Fire Investigators have determined cause was accidental. Started in a first floor front room. On the cause, specifically a flammable liquid came in contact with a lit candle.
The department estimates damage at $750,000.

So sad....
...truly an accident. a young girl was using nail polish remover in an area with a lit candle.
Good thing that she wasn't hurt
That could have resulted in a lot more than property damage. Still, it will be tough for these families in the near future. All the best to them.
