The Boston Fire Department reports a three-alarm fire tonight at 43 Iroquois St. did an estimated $500,000 in damage, but caused no injuries.

The fire, reported around 8:25 p.m., started on a rear first-floor porch, the department says, adding the cause is under investigation.

Chynah Tyler

Chynah Tyler, a former aide to state Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz and a Roxbury native, is running for the 7th Suffolk state representative's seat from which Gloria Fox is retiring this year.

Tyler unveiled her Web site today, although Politico reports she actually filed papers to run on March 16.

Also running: Monica Monique Cannon, also of Roxbury.

The State House News Service reports that state Rep. Gloria Fox is retiring at the end of the year from the 7th Suffolk (Roxbury, Mission Hill, the Fenway) district she's represented since 1985.

A developer wants to tear an old wooden house at Tremont and Sewall streets and include the facades of six neighboring row houses as the fronts for a new apartment complex that would include 33 apartments, including some rare four-bedroom units.

Boston Police and friends identify the man found fatally shot inside 55 Fenwood Rd. on Wednesday as Eden Jacquet, 30.

Boston Police report officers investigating an "unknown medical situation" at 55 Fenwood Rd. around 7:40 p.m. found a man with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Lloyd's of London has sued the owner of a Mission Hill apartment building over a 2014 fire, apparently caused by a rooftop barbecue, to recover the money it had to pay out to the owners of a neighboring building.

In a lawsuit filed this week in US District Court in Boston, Lloyd's said it paid $79,434.70 to the owners of 25 Wigglesworth for damage from what turned into a two-alarm fire on June 30.

King-Settles Jr.

Boston Police report Boston's latest homicide victim is D'Andre King-Settles, shot to death around 4 p.m. yesterday outside 60 Annunciation Rd. in the Alice Taylor project.

He was 17.

His older brother, Richard T. King Jr., was stabbed to death on Trotter Court in 2011, age 22. His father died in 2007, just 35. He leaves his mother, a brother and a sister.

Tree asks people to stop putting trash around it at the base of  Mission Hill

Chris in Boston noticed a tree at Huntington and South Huntington avenues had a request for passersby this morning: Stop leaving trash around it.

Ed. note: Given its location, the tree should probably also be asking people to drive more carefully in the rain and not crash into it.
