For all you Central Artery fans

Matt Laskowski stitched together an interesting aerial view using some Microsoft Live overhead images to show how things have changed since the Central Artery was taken down.

And yet some people still think it was a waste....

Theres an error in the picture though. The BU photonics construction shown is actually a completely different science building. Photonics (also unbuilt) borders St Marys street and the pike.

It's the new Life Science and Engineering Building. Not a very catchy name.

While writing the info originally I was second guessing myself thinking "Wasn't the photonics center the other big building down closer inbetween St. Mary's street and BU Central...?"
But now I know that *THAT* building is called the Life Science & Engineering Building. Yeah, not quite as catchy as "Photonics."

Anyway, I've made the changes to the image :)

These shots are from 2003-2004 and the Photonics building was opened in 1997. That building site is the LSEB, as mentioned by GradStudent, and is on the old location of the Nickelodeon theater on Cummington St that was amid the biology and engineering research buildings.

I didnt realize MS had pictures from all angles.

This angle appears to be taken a year later, as the building is almost done.
