DNA or Green Line sequence: You decide
By adamg on Tue, 10/13/2009 - 11:09am
D C C C D D E E E E
It's the sequence of trains at whatever stop Phillip McCarthy is at, waiting for a B train.

Since DNA bases are A, T, G, and C, I will decide that no, this is not a DNA sequence on this planet.
However, the Aegean Sea are three strings on a ukulele.
Makes up for the B D B B D C
Makes up for the B D B B D C C going through Hines last night. It's really NOT that hard for them to sequence properly.
Here's a tip: B C B D E - B C B D E
Wonder how many of those C's were either short turned
at Government Center or expressed without passengers from North Station to Government Center?
Interesting bassline
Interesting bassline, but I'm not sure what I can do with it.
You could try
D C7 D7/C A7/C D7 E-7/D E7 A-7/E A7/E A7(#11)/E...
D7.
(no keyboard to try it on at the moment, but it ought to work...)
De doo doo doo, de da da da..
De doo doo doo, de da da da..
same for every line
I think that this happens for every line. if you are waiting for a B train, all trains but the B show up. Waiting for a D train? BCE show up. etc.
Also, yes, it is not human DNA. could be alien dna, though. if they have dna.
no way does the E train come often
the usual green sequence is much more like:
B B B B C C C B C B B C C C D E B B C B C B B E B C D B B C E
And they almost always loop an empty B out in front
of a loaded westbound (inbound) E entering Government Center, and then hold the B at Park Street, thus delaying the E from entering its berth at Park. At least that's the case during AM rush hour.
Which begs the question - If Bs are supposedly running behind schedule so often (enough to cause the T to "temporarily" remove four surface stops), then why are they held at Park Street to begin with?
And in the evening rush, Es headed to Lechmere have actually been coming with reasonable frequency lately. The problem is that you just can't get on them at most stations because they're so crowded.
"begs the question" does not
"begs the question" does not mean "raises the question"
Data available from Mass DOT yet?
Isn't something like this available from the DOT yet?

Or do they not have any actual train line travel data, just scheduled train line travel data? I thought we'd be able to figure out the "typical" sequence of trains from the cool Google Transit stuff they've posted so far.
I think they're working on that
But, no, they haven't started releasing real-time data yet (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong).
