School Superintendent Carol Johnson appeared on WBUR this morning to discuss the Rodney Peterson case, several days after the Globe reported she'd promised Peterson she'd take no action as long as the case stayed out of the media.

The Globe details how School Superintendent Carol Johnson did nothing after then O'Bryant co-headmaster Rodney Peterson pleaded guilty to domestic violence and applied for a new job in Memphis - and may have promised to keep that up as long as news didn't leak out (which it did). But the kicker to the whole thing is in the very last two paragraphs:

A trade association of contractors who install home security systems charges the two telecommunications companies are violating state law and possibly putting residents' lives in danger by letting unlicensed technicians install their own burglar alarms and smoke detectors.

In a lawsuit originally filed last month in state court but transferred this week to US District Court in Boston, the Massachusetts Systems Contractors Association charges:

The BRA is hiring an Innovation District manager, the description for which sounds like the description for the people who run the city's Main Street programs in older 'hoods, only more innovationier - the successful candidate will attempt to recruit high-tech and biotech companies, instead of hardware stores and restaurants.

UPDATE: That was fast! At 10:41 a.m., James Conroy (of the Chicago Conroys) tweeted that the lady and the hole are, or rather were, in Manchester, England, and we say "were" since the photo of one Val Kelly pointing out a pothole was posted in May, 2010.

Big hole, but where?Ever vigilant UHub visitors yesterday quickly poked, well, holes, in the photo of a Stevie Nicksian woman pointing to a large pothole at "222 Cambridge St." in a complaint filed via the city's Citizens Connect. The street markings are not American, the fence behind her looks suspiciously European and who the hell wears a long black coat and scarf in the sort of temperatures we've been having lately?

The Mayor's Office of Constituent Service, which runs Citizens Connect, reports it couldn't find the hole at either of the city's 222 Cambridge Streets (yes, of course Boston has identical addresses in different neighborhoods; paht a the chahm and all). But they're determined to find it, so:

The first person to identify the actual location of the hole in the picture will win two tickets to a SummerBoston event. Detectives, on your mark, get set, go!

Post your answers here or tweet them @NotifyBoston.

Phill Hunt was thirsty today:

I wanna go for a drink at Higgs Boston.

Hillary, however, suggests it may be too late:

Higgs Boston - it's behind an unmarked door, down a staircase, next to a Dunkies. If you have to ask, you're not cool enough to go there.

And, in fact, there is a surprising number of Google results for the term Higgs Boston.

But what does it all mean? Technology reporter John Moe sums it up, in fewer than 140 characters, no less:

"I'm wicked hahd to find." - The Higgs-Boston Particle.

Chris Marstall adds:

Higgs Boston represent! Take that New York, lets see your Higgs!

To which Sean Frederick piles on:

"How do you like them atoms?" #higgsboston
