Around 1:30 p.m. in the Bank of America parking lot, 1440 Dorchester Ave., by a black man with a long gun and wearing a bright red jacket, who rode away on a black bicycle.

Boston Police reports gang-unit officers who spotted a couple of suspicious characters getting into a cab on Norfolk Street yesterday started following the cab and waited until the driver violated some traffic law that would let them pull him over and conduct a search. Read more.

Citizens Bank robbery Dec 18 at 10:32

The woman who robbed a Santander branch on Dot. Ave. Wednesday and a Citizens Bank on Thursday continued her skein back in Fields Corner today when she apparently made off with money at the Citizens Bank branch at 217 Adams St. around 10:30 a.m.

Boston Police report they're looking for a woman they say stuck up the Santander Bank branch at 1442 Dorchester Avenue on Wednesday (two days after some guy held up the Bank of America branch next door) and the Citizens Bank at 40 Summer St. in Downtown Crossing yesterday afternoon. Read more.

A man apparently too busy to don a mask held up the Bank of America branch at 1440 Dorchester Ave. around 1:35 p.m. on Monday, the FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force reports.

Boston Police report an incident Tuesday afternoon in Four Corners ended with two under arrest - one after he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot injury.

This morning, police say, two more people were arrested with a gun outside Dorchester Municipal Court - by officers there to guard against any retaliatory violence related to the previous day's activities. Read more.

Yancey says goodbye

Boston city councilors and Mayor Walsh said goodbye to councilors Charles Yancey (Dorchester) and Steve Murphy (at large) at their final meeting of the city council.

Walsh presented the two with Revere bowls for their years of service - 32 for Yancey, 19 for Murphy. Read more.

Proposed Indigo Block development

Developers have filed plans for a city-owned vacant lot in Uphams Corner that would include 80 apartments, eight townhouse condos and a building for light-industrial and office use.

The Indigo Block, proposed by a team lead by the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corp., would sit on a 2.75-acre lot at 65 E. Cottage St., next to the Uphams Corner stop on the Indigo, or Fairmount, Line. Read more.

Where the speed limit will be lowered to 20 mph in Boston: Jamaica Plain and Dorchester

New 20-m.p.h. zones in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester.

Boston officials plan to drop the speed limit to 20 m.p.h. in small sections of Jamaica Plain and Dorchester - and to seek state permission to reduce the default citywide speed limit to 25 - as part of efforts to reduce the number of crash-related injuries and deaths in the city.

The "Neighborhood Slow Streets" proposals for the Stony Brook and Talbot-Triangle areas could then become blueprints for reducing bad crashes on neighborhood streets across Boston. Read more.

UPDATE: The Globe identifies the victim as Eric Durham, known to his friends as Weez.

A man was shot in the chest around 8:25 p.m. outside 120 Southern Ave. Boston Police report the man, in his 20s, was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

Christmas wrapping and cocaine

A Randolph man was arrested for cocaine trafficking in Dorchester yesterday after authorities say they intercepted a UPS package for him bearing more than 200 grams of Colombian cocaine wrapped in Christmas paper.

Nonson Obiora, 27, was arrested yesterday afternoon at a Dorchester house after he arrived to pick up the package, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Two Vietnamese restaurants on Dorchester Avenue that don't have liquor licenses face possible sanctions after police found patrons drinking beer out of tea cups last month.

Tomorrow, meanwhile, the City Council could vote on a proposal by Councilors Michelle Wu and Steve Murphy to let small restaurants in neighborhoods such as Dorchester legally let their customers bring in their own beer and wine. BYOB is currently illegal in Boston. Read more.

Boston Police report Anthony Sinclair, 28, was stabbed around 12:30 a.m. at 5 Nightingale St. He was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Valerie Cirilo-Perez, 25, was charged with murder. She is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester Municipal Court today.

State Police report a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV around 11 p.m. on Sunday at Gallivan Boulevard and Adams Street left the motorcyclist dead. Read more.
