A federal judge in Boston this week sentenced Raymond Jeffreys, 28, to 30 years in federal prison after he pled guilty to charges of sex trafficking, tampering with a witness by attempting to kill him, and making false statements to a federal agent, the US Attorney's office reports. Read more.

UPDATE: Boston Police report the victim, a man in his 20s, died.

Jeff Durham reports somebody was shot around 9:15 p.m. at Southern Avenue and Darlington Street and that the person was taken away in bad shape. This makes the third shooting in the area since Friday.

For the second day in a row, gunfire erupted in Codman Square, but this time, somebody was shot - a woman, in the head, around 6:40 p.m., John Duffill reports, adding the shooter was aiming at somebody else. Read more.

The BRA today approved the Dot Block complex, which would replace a series of low-slung storefronts and industrial buildings at Dorchester Avenue and Hancock Street with 384 apartments, 60,000 square feet of retail space and a 450-car garage.

The filming of a rap video on a Dorchester cul-de-sac yesterday evening ended with six people under arrest and the confiscation of four loaded guns, police and prosecutors say.

One man had bail set at $100,000, two others at $75,000, at their arraignments today in Dorchester Municipal Court. Prosecutors had asked for bail as high as $500,000. Read more.
