Man charged with gunfire that grazed woman sitting in a car outside a Codman Square church
Boston Police report arresting James Martin, 22, on charges he fired the shot that sent a woman who'd just left church to the hospital last Friday evening.
Police charge that Martin pulled out a gun during an argument with another man last Friday and fired. But instead of hitting his target, the bullet went through the windshield of a car outside the Freedom in Christ Ministry, grazing the woman in the head.
Police say they were able to use surveillance video to identify Martin. Then, around 5:20 p.m. today:
Officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) observed the individual in the area of Adams and Gibson Streets. When officers approached, the individual took off running. After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to catch up to and subdue the suspect.
Martin was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of an unlicensed firearm, police say.
Innocent, etc.
