An East Boston man faces a variety of gun charges for the two guns, one loaded with 31 bullets and a laser attachment, he had stowed in his sweatshirt and sweatpants, that state troopers found when they pulled him over for bombing past a stop sign while making a left turn in East Boston Monday afternoon, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Boston Police report officers who stopped a man for running a red light at Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue in Dorchester around 3:35 a.m. arrested him after noticing he was packing what turned out to be a gun loaded with 15 bullets. Read more.

A house on Pinedale Road, off Canterbury Street in Roslindale, was hit by at least four bullets, one of which wound up inside, around 6:45 this morning. WCVB reports no injuries. Police found five shell casings across the street.

Wanted for Back Bay armed robbery

Boston Police report they are looking for a man who tried lifting a couple of bottles from Quality Mart, 21 Massachusetts Ave., got chased out by a clerk and then, before he made his way towards Kenmore Square, flashed what appeared to be a gun at the employee, around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. A federal judge today dismissed a lawsuit by a now former radiologist over the state's gun laws, saying the Supreme Court still gives states the rights to regulate guns and besides, he really needs to first finish his appeal in state court on his convictions for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. A federal judge says the state's ban on certain high-powered assault weapons complies with the Second Amendment and so he's rejected a request for a preliminary injunction that would let one Massachusetts man in particular, but also other gun fans, stock up on semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines while a lawsuit over the issue wends its way through the courts. Boston Police report a man was found shot to death outside 34 High St. in Dorchester at 5:28 a.m.

The man, pronounced dead at the scene, is Boston's first murder victim this year.
