State Police report that when the driver of a Lexus SUV ride-share car suddenly slowed on I-93 northbound just past the Zakim around 10 p.m. on Saturday, a tow truck slammed into it, followed by a Civic plowing into the tow truck. Read more.

An elderly man was hit by a vehicle on Spring Street in front of the Star Market in West Roxbury around 9 p.m. Because of the seriousness of his injuries, the homicide unit was called in. The driver remained on scene.

State Police report that a man who got out of his car after he crashed into a guard rail was hit and killed by a another car whose driver stopped and which was itself rammed into by another car - driven by somebody who was then charged with OUI - sending the driver and a passenger to the hospital with serious injuries. Live Boston reports the pedestrian was hit on Cambridge Street at Spice Street and suffered injuries serious enough to have the homicide unit and fatal-accident reconstruction team called in. State Police shut the off ramp from I-93; BPD shut Cambridge at Maffa Way.

An off-duty and out of uniform MA National Guard Lt. Colonel spotted a bus with Florida on its side, assumed it was full of migrants sent by De Santis, and aggressively followed it for 10 miles. Read more.

Van and gasoline tanker

The driver of a van plowed into a gasoline tank truck on Hyde Park Avenue at the Akiki gas station around 3:30 a.m., the Boston Fire Department reports. No explosion, but 50 to 60 gallons of fuel leaked onto the street. The station was still shut, a cleanup crew still on scene, at 9:30 a.m.

Car on tracks at Sullivan Square

A woman whose car somehow flipped onto the tracks that run alongside the Orange Line at Sullivan Square early Saturday walked away largely unscathed, Live Boston reports. The cause of the crash remains under investigation; Live Boston reports another vehicle might have fled the scene.

Truck stuck at a bridge on Soldiers Field Road

Javi came upon this freshly storrowed box truck on Soldiers Field Road inbound, just before it turns into Storrow Drive, around 10 a.m.

The logistics company that owns the truck is based in the Raymond Flynn Marine Park in South Boston.

Acela train about to go under bridge

Part of the problem: All the trains leave little time for repair work.

MassDOT says the River Street bridge in Cleary Square is beyond repair, so it's started work on designing its complete replacement - with preliminary plans hopefully available for the public to look at in the first quarter of 2023. Read more.

Massachusetts yesterday sued a driver from upstate New York for the $1.85 million in damage it says he caused when the boom of the excavator he was hauling on a flatbed slammed into a turnpike overpass and then, 30 miles down the road, slammed into another overpass, after which the excavator fell off the flatbed and took out a stretch of guardrail. The signboards along the Expressway say drivers should expect delays between 1 and 3 p.m. today as the president arrives in town for his "cancer moonshot" speech at the JFK Library.

Only thing is the speech is at 4 p.m. And then the officials White House schedule says he'll be staying in town for a Democratic National Committee reception at 6 p.m. We'll go out on a limb and assume that's not at the neighboring Bayside DoubleTree, so that probably means a motorcade somewhere downtown or in the Back Bay. And then he departs Boston at 7:10 p.m., which means still more traffic issues as he gets taken to Logan.

Mayor Wu and BTD today announced plans for 9.4 miles of new bike lanes to be marked out and built in Boston by December, 2023, part of a three-year plan to ensure that half of all Bostonians will be within a three-minute walk of a "a safe and connected bike route." Read more.
