Two law firms that represented former Cambridge resident Alan Dershowitz in legal actions stemming from his relationship with dead molester Jeffrey Epstein today sued three insurers with whom Dershowitz had policies to cover such things, charging the insurers failed to fully reimburse them for their work despite initially agreeing to. The Chinatown Consolidated Benevolent Association says the owner of the Cmart supermarket has known since at least 2019 its lease on association land at Washington and Herald streets would not be renewed when it ends this July and yet is acting as if the lease will actually be extended. Read more.

A GoFundMe set up by Roslindale resident Chris Lang has already gotten $26,000 in pledges to help the barbershop, threading salon and nine other businesses destroyed or shut yesterday when somebody drove into their Corinth Street building yesterday morning. Read more.

The Boston Fire Department reports a driver plowed into Threading for Beauty and Sebastian's Barber Shop on Corinth Street, just around the corner from Belgrade Avenue in Roslindale, this morning, destroying the businesses and taking out a good part of the building. Read more.

Family Dollar closing in West Roxbury

The Family Dollar store, where Value Village used to be, at the corner of Centre and Park streets, is closing for good one of these days, which means West Roxburyans with a yen for discount stuff will have to drive into Roslindale, Hyde Park or Dedham for a Family Dollar. Owner Harris Krafchik put the 8,000-square foot building, built in 1930, up for lease this summer.
