BLDUP.com reports a developer is eying a one-story Citizens Bank at 560 Commonwealth Ave. - at the intersection with Beacon Street - for a glass-walled hotel with a roof-deck restaurant.

Bank fans need not fret, however - the rendering shows a bank going into the first-floor retail space.

A B Line trolley and a car came together in Allston's curve of doom at Comm. Ave. and Warren Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. Andrew Curtis arrived on scene not long after.

The Boston Sun reports the Back Bay Architectural Commission rejected dormers proposed for 197 Commonwealth Ave. after a neighbor complained their location would let people stare at her as she sat on her toilet.

The commission, which has a say in all building exterior work in the Back Bay historic district, however, did approve a company's plan for wireless-Internet antennas on 19 light poles in the neighborhood, after determining it did not have standards for historic wireless antennas in the neighborhood.

UPDATE, 9/26/16: Tasca passed a re-inspection and can re-open.

A Boston health inspector yesterday shut Tasca, 1612 Commonwealth Ave. for a series of violations, most seriously "visible mold" on the interior of the restaurant ice machine and sausages that were left out for 90 minutes at 86 degrees. Read more.

Landscapers were trimming tree limbs outside the Herb Chambers BMW dealiership on Thorndike Street near Comm. Ave. around 3 p.m. when one of the limbs fell on a man walking by, WBZ reports. NECN reports he had blood coming from his ears.

A drenched citizen complains:

As I was driving down Commonwealth AVE between Clarendon and Berkley heading towards Arlington street with my windows open the sprinklers in the Commonwealth Mall went on soaking myself and the inside of my car with cold water. Someone might want to take a look at the sprinklers and recalibrate them.

State transportation officials signed off today on a $20.4-million reconstruction project along a bicycle-unfriendly stretch of Commonwealth Avenue that will include dedicated bicycle lanes on both sides of the road and wider sidewalks on both sides. Read more.
