MS-13 member gets 10 years for near-fatal attack on rival gang member
Domingo Tizol, a member of MS-13's Chelsea-based Enfermos Criminales Salvatrucha "clique" was sentenced today to 10 years in federal prison for his role in a punching and knife attack on a member of the rival 18th Street Gang in 2015 in Chelsea.
Tizol, 23 and a Guatemalan national, faces deportation at the end of his sentence, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports.
Tizol pleaded guilty in September to RICO charges that he beat the rival gang member on Bellingham Street in May, 2015. Fellow clique member Bryan Galicia-Barillas has pleaded guilty to shooting the man during the attack - which the victim survived - and is awaiting sentencing for his role in this and two other failed murders and his role in providing the gun used to murder an innocent woman in 2014.
Tizol was one of 61 alleged MS-13 member swept up in federal and local raids in 2016.

Deportation at end of 10
Deportation at end of 10 years I hope?
That’s it? A 10 year slap on
That’s it? A 10 year slap on the wrist isn’t gonna deter these guys. They’ll come back after they’re deported and commit more crimes
Well
It does represent about a third of his life.
seriously?
why do these guys only get 10 years when there are people in this country spending life because they had some weed in their pockets?
this is a crazy country
It all depends on what the law says
And I do find it hard to believe there are any people currently serving life sentences for simple possession. Trafficking, sure, but not simple possession.
In the end, we are a nation of laws, and the laws note what the punishments are. He didn’t kill anyone (thank goodness) so ten years seems like it would be the punishment.
He didn't kill someone not
He didn't kill someone not for the lack of trying.
I can't deny that
And I'm sure you won't deny that defendants who plead guilty rather than forcing a trial often get sentences on the lighter side.
