Firefighters try to retrieve elevator from Twilight Zone at City Hall

Around 6 p.m., Boston Fire rescue units responded to City Hall when an elevator got stuck between the third and fifth floors in a part of the building that doesn't have a fourth floor. The Fire Department reports one person is stuck in this elevator purgatory.

UPDATE: BFD reports a mechanic was able to get the elevator lowered to the third floor around 6:40. The person inside had been there for 90 minutes.

Police evacuate Mattapan house in search of gunman

Boston Police report their ShotSpotter listening system and a gun-sniffing dog led them Monday night to an Acton man hiding out in a Mattapan house - and his gun - after he allegedly fired it in the woods near the Neponset River.
