The Boston Licensing Board this morning rolled back closing time for Agoros Bar and Grill, 356 Chestnut Hill Ave., from 1 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. after BPD detectives found yet another underage BC student with a drink inside, on Oct. 22 - the eighth such violation since the place opened last fall. The Boston Licensing Board today continued a hearing on a violent incident at Candibar in the Theater District after an out-of-town patron and the club's owner, sitting next to each other, took turns calling each other a liar.

The board agreed to extend its hearing to let police, the man and the club round up more witnesses to try to shed more light on just what happened shortly after midnight on Oct. 9. Read more.

A woman who walked into the Lincoln Tavern on West Broadway on the night of Oct. 15 and spotted her ex-boyfriend kissing another woman grew enraged and went up and punched the other woman, a BPD detective said today. Read more.

Cottage Cafe, 1227 Hyde Park Ave., is getting ready for its final last call: Next week, the Boston Licensing Board considers letting its owner sell the venerable watering hole's liquor license to about as un-gritty a locale as you could imagine: A large building aimed at "makers, designers, architects, communicators, researchers, manufacturers, technologists, innovators and entrepreneurs" on the South Boston waterfront. A guy asked to stop talking trash to a woman at a Summer Street bar reacted by getting enraged and smashing a beer bottle with which to stab the requester last month - after first getting on a stool to confront him and then, after the man briefly subdued him, biting him in the chest to free himself, a Boston Police detective told the Boston Licensing Board today. An MIT fraternity on Bay State Road had to explain itself before the Boston Licensing Board today for an incident last month in which all non-residents were evacuated after police and fire inspectors found too many people inside, a two-story shower-head waterfall was drenching a marble staircase, and a kid popped open a can of Bud Light. On the evening of July 20, a man who said he was a Marine walked into Game On on Lansdowne Street with what he said was an emotional-support dog. By the time he left, police and bar managers said, he slapped one woman in the face, punched a bouncer twice and unleashed his now snarling dog on the crowd, urging it to bite everybody. Read more.
