It wasn't very fast, I passed it while cycling along the river and I last I saw of it was when it went under Harvard Bridge (Mass Ave Bridge)

Hands Cambridge

This video shows people playing a part of a song on a piano placed in Central Square on July 18 as part of the Hands Movement.

Participants were taught how to play a part of an original song, and then filmed as they performed it. In the end, a video captured the many different hands and participants coming together to make one complete song.

How does one answer a completely loaded, manipulative, junky City Council questionnaire like the one these people, calling themselves Democrats for Education Reform, just sent to me? People for Public School Privatization would, I suspect, be a more accurate name given their pro-Charter stance. It's not the first slanted questionnaire we've received, but, arguably, it's the worst.

Cambridge Police report somebody was shot as the Caribbean parade wound down in Kendall Square this afternoon.

The victim, a 25-year-old woman from Roxbury, was shot in the leg but is expected to survive, police say. Read more.

Cambridge Police report Tywann Jones, 35, was stabbed around 1:40 a.m. outside the Central Square 7-Elevent at Mass. Ave. and Pleasant Street.

Jones was rushed to Mass. General, where he was pronounced dead around 4:40 a.m., police say.

Central Square shows us some of the soggy people gathering for tonight's Le Diner en Blanc, an annual event in which invited people dress in white and eat dinner on white table cloths outdoors somewhere.

Cambridge Police report on the water-main break at JFK and Mt. Auburn streets this morning:

Inbound traffic to Harvard Square from Memorial Drive will be closed. Traffic coming east from Mt. Auburn Street will be diverted to Eliot to JFK Street outbound to Memorial Drive. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area during the AM commute and likely through the weekend.

Without water, some businesses have shut.

A man who'd spent 20 years living as a farmer in a Jamaican hamlet is back in Massachusetts today to face charges he tried to kill his ex-girlfriend in Cambridge in 1994 by stabbing her and slashing her neck after breaking into her apartment, State Police report. Read more.
