Whole series of planking photos, including my favorite - planking the giant steel T outside Alewife. Sometimes, though, it can be hard to tell if somebody is planking or dead drunk.

A roving Universal Hub reporter filed this report from Woodland this afternoon:

From first hand experience (I was there), a 2-car train (cars no. 3645 and 3843) had their pantographs damaged when entering Woodland station, possibly due to an issue with the overhead wire there. They sent a team over there pretty quick and they tied down the pantographs and shut down the cars. Shuttle buses showed up at Woodland around 45 minutes later.

And that's why there was shuttle-bus service along the D line today.

MBTA Transit Police report arresting a Jamaica Plain man on indecent assault and battery charges for an alleged attack at the Forest Hills busway on Saturday.

Should we walk, or do we have time to take the T?

, the answer apparently is: It doesn't make a difference.

In their latest attempt to cover up how minimal the replacement shuttle bus service between North Station and Lechmere really is, the MBTA has just put up a series of new posters at North Station "suggesting" that people destined for Science Park might want to walk there instead of taking the shuttle bus. The read (in part):

Getting To Science Park

Shuttle Bus: 15 Minutes
Walking: 15 Minutes

BrennionThe MBTA reports police officers interrupted a possible drug sale at Andrew station on the Red Line yesterday morning.

According to a police report, MBTA and Boston officers in the station noticed Stephen Brennion, 31, a man known to them, sitting on the outbound platform with another guy shortly before noon yesterday:

Take a look at these two tickets. I've been told they're valid tickets for the commuter rail from last month and this month. Do you see the problem? Can anyone confirm that this is for real on their own June 2011 ticket?

The Jamaica Plain Gazette reports an unexpected federal grant could provide enough money to start work on the $200-million rehab of the "temporary" facility - which the T recently said it couldn't do at all.

An alert citizen reported an urgent situation at the Back Bay MBTA station:

Screaming woman and two men drinking a bottle of Listerine.

Drinking Listerine straight? Not on the rocks, at least? Alas, nothing the city could do but forward the complaint to the T, since it's their jurisdiction.
