Four violent attacks in two days in East Boston, one involving a machete

Boston Police report on a series of incidents last Friday and Saturday:

Around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, a man walking on Marion Street by Paris Street was approached by two Hispanic males and one black male in their 20s who demanded his money, then hit him in the face with a baseball bat (about 24 hours later, also on Marion Street, a woman was mugged by a black man, about 35, 5'11", who stole her purse).

Around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, a man was surrounded by seven to ten Hispanic teen-aged males, one of whom stabbed him in the back and arm, after which some got into a blue or green Honda and fled down Chelsea toward Porter. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police say, adding they believe the attack was gang related.

The next night, a man walking near 39 Chelsea St. was attacked by four Hispanic males who'd gotten out of a white Honda Accord. After beating him and stealing his stuff, he told police, he lost consciousness, then went home to sleep; he did not report the attack until 10 hours afterward.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, a man who got into an argument with three other men and a woman at 76 White St. wound up with "serious lacerations" on his hand when one of the arguers whipped out a machete and swung it at him.

I actually witnessed the police chasing the suspects after the Chelsea St incident last Friday. A bit unnerving....
