Signal problems at Copley Square mean "minor" slowdowns on the Green Line, the MBTA reports.

Wanted for Guilty theft

Boston Police report they're looking for this guy on charges he lifted three bottles of Guilty men's cologne (by Gucci, of course) from the Nordstrom Rack on Boylston Street in the Back Bay on Oct. 2.

Pilotblock can now confirm you never know what you'll see in Copley Square at 7 a.m., in this case, Christopher the Pig.

Christopher lives in Montreal; while in the Boston area, he stays at the Copley Plaza, of course.

Destroyed Boston Coliseum

Post-Gale coliseum.

Today, the folks at the Boston City Archives remind us, is the anniversary of the Boston landfall of the Gale of 1869, a small but powerful hurricane that did major damage to the new Boston Coliseum - built for a "peace jubilee" where Trinity Church and the Fairmont Copley Plaza sit now.

There's probably a point to this sign posted today on the bus stop on Boylston Street in front of the Copley Square library.

The T reports "moderate" delays on the Green Line due to a deceased trolley at Copley Square.

UPDATE: The T now reports "severe" delays, says the flatlined trolley is at Boylston. Unclear if it's a different one or they managed to get the Copley one running just long enough to move the problem a station down.

The T is reporting "moderate" delays on the E Line due to a trolley frozen in place at Copley and on the Red Line north from Broadway to Alewife because, well, they don't say, but maybe the trains are shuddering thinking about the impending snow.

Boylston Street in Copley Square was shut around 5 p.m. as firefighters raced to the top of the eight-story 583 Boylston St. (the building with the New Balance store) for a roof fire. The fire extended to a shed on the roof before they knocked it down.
