Anti-vaxxers outside the Boston Herald offices

Titanium Cranium shows us the small group of pro-measles anti-vaxxers who showed up in front of the Herald offices today to express their outrage at a Herald editorial accusing their Minnesota kin of putting Somali immigrants at risk by making them forego measles shots on the discredited theory they could cause autism.

No word if the Herald is planning an editorial in favor of fluoridation.

The developers working on transforming the 15-acre Boston Edison power-plant site today filed formal plans with the BPDA and state environmental regulators for 2.1 million square feet of development, including 1,588 residential units, a 150-room hotel, 340,000 square feet of office space and 68,000 square feet of retail, 987 parking spaces and more than an acre of public space along the Reserved Channel. North Shore Pain Management, a Beverly medical practice, has announced the death of Dr. Richard Field.

Field, 49, owned the 11th-floor condo in the Macallen Building on Dorchester Avenue where he and his fiancee were found murdered last night - allegedly by a man newly out of jail on a bank-robbery sentence. Read more.

UPDATE: Boston Police identify the suspect as Bampumim Teixeira, 30, of Chelsea; say the victims were a man and a woman in their 50s.

Around 8:40 p.m. in an 11th-floor penthouse unit at the Macallen Building at 141 Dorchester Ave. Cheryl Fiandaca at WBZ reports they were bound and had their throats slashed. Read more.

WCVB reports the guy behind the plan to have race cars speed around the South Boston Waterfront has filed a $15-million law suit against Boston environment chief Austin Blackmon, alleging Blackmon failed to tell him about revised federal flood maps that were yet another straw that made the race plan collapse.

One minor, teensy-tiny possible problem: FEMA presented the revised maps to the Fort Point Neighborhood Association on Jan 26, 2016, at a meeting attended by several of the race guy's underlings.

A MassDOT environmental report details plans to expand South Station over nine years that would hinge on getting the Postal Service to finally abandon its giant facility along Fort Point Channel and moving the food-distribution companies of Widett Circle someplace else. Read more.

The Board of Appeal today rejected an East 5 Street resident's proposal to raze a garage and replace it with a two-family home with six parking spaces.

The board expressed reservations about Alex Lanstein's proposal to put two glass or translucent garage doors right at the street at 420 E. 5 St., on a block consisting of brick-fronted buildings. Read more.

SO stoked to see a pair of loons at the Sugar Bowl in Southie this morning.

Her sighting comes a couple weeks after somebody spotted a loon at Jamaica Pond.
