Stupid yellow signs in Chinatown

Signs all over Chinatown.

From Neponset Circle to Chinatown, agitated citizens are filing 311 complaints about those stupid yellow "forced auction" signs that have sprung up in recent days. One person even walked around Chinatown to take photos with which to urge the city to take down the "P.O.S." signs.

Monday was the last day of coronavirus-related parking without payment for residents with parking stickers at meters in their own neighborhoods: BTD workers are once again ticketing even the be-stickered who don't feed a meter or who stay at a metered space for more than two hours.

Boston Police today identified the man stabbed to death on Atkinson Street on Monday morning as Ugochukwu McDonald Anaele, 29, of Houston, TX.

Anaele was the fifth person stabbed to death in or near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard this year.

Tyler Brown pleaded guilty yesterday to a series of charges, including armed assault with intent to murder for an incident in May, 2020 in which he shot repeatedly at Boston police officers in the area of Chester Park on Massachusetts Avenue, one at close range - while on probation for a double stabbing in Chinatown in 2014. Jay Hajj at Mike's City Diner on Washington Street in the South End reports he had to call 911 twice in one day due to "unruly and insulting customer behavior" and asks people to remember everybody's doing the best they can and to take a deep breath before deciding to lash out at somebody over a breakfast order.

Boston University President Robert Brown said today that optimism that all Boston University employees would get vaccinated against the virus proved unwarranted, so the school is now requiring that everybody who gets a BU paycheck either show proof of vaccination by Sept. 2 - or really good proof why they should be exempted for medical or religious reasons.
