you know the dance is neverending--
you wanna see your friends tonight
that suit might need a cleaning--
but it's alright--
but the place just ain't the same without Billy Ruane
'cause he always knows your name, that Billy Ruane
and it's just a goddamn shame without Billy Ruane...
(and there ain't no one to blame,
but the place just ain't the same...)
From Varsity Drag's Billy Ruane. They performed the song at Church last year:

Oh, man
My years of slight acquaintance with him are well in the past, but this just makes me so sad. My heart is aching today. Billy was...Billy, and for better and for worse there was never anybody remotely like him.
RIP
This just rips my heart out. Nobody in the world like Billy.
A real original..
A true iconoclast, the epitome of the light that burns twice as bright burns half as long.
Billy Ruane
So many memories of getting my beer spilled by the whirling arms and coat tails of "that spastic guy who's, like, at every damn show I go to!!" All worth it as it was hard not to smile when seeing someone who so thoroughly enjoyed himself and the music, and clearly did not care what people thought about his self-expression.
Gone too soon.
