Man stabbed in chest in unsuccessful robbery attempt on the Riverway

Brian D'Amico reports a man was stabbed around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Longwood Avenue and the Riverway. He managed to run away and get to the Longwood Green Line stop on the Brookline side of the Muddy River, where police found him and summoned EMTs for what they said were not life-threatening injuries. The robber, meanwhile, got away with nothing.

Boston Police report:

[The victim] was sitting on the logs listening to music and feeding the ducks when he was approached by the suspect. The victim stated the suspect demanded his iPhone and stated, "Give me your money and phone."

The victim stated he refused to give the suspect his belongings and the suspect stabbed him with a small knife.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, with a medium build.
