Back when J. Geils was in J. Geils

A company called Music Vault has posted more than 13,000 videos of classic rock shows on its website and on YouTube. There are a dizzying number of priceless performances. Unfortunately, none that appear to have taken place in Boston but several that feature hometown favorites including Boston and Aerosmith. (Sadly, no Del Fuegos.) Here's the J. Geils Band performing (Ain't Nothin' But A) House Party at the Winterland in San Francisco in 1977. Yes, 37 years ago.
I wonder if Peter Wolf still has the Polaroids he took at around 8:50 into the clip.

I can't count the times I saw
I can't count the times I saw J. Geils band in concert. If they were playing locally, we were sure to be there.
In fact one time we saw them down the Cape and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were the opening band. Great show and I specifically remember one of the Heartbreakers was so strung out, we wondered if he would make it through the show. He did.
Great times to be in your late teens, old enough to appreciate the bands in person and young enough to need very little sleep.
Me too!
Geils has always been my favorite band, nobody better live!
James Brown
Thanks for this Adam. Watching James Brown concert from 1986. Around that time I saw James Brown at the Channel. He started couple of hours late, but it was worth the wait.
I'll be wasting a lot of time on this website.
youtube link
If, like me, you can't get the videos on the posted site to play, you can see all the same content on youtube.
I find it doesn't work on
I find it doesn't work on Firefox, but IE works fine.
