What's the deal with this old Boston City Hospital building?

Today's mystery photo comes, as usual, from the folks at the Boston City Archives. But this one's different because they don't know the story of this building, either, and are looking for help to identify it.
Our own John Keith thinks he has the answer.

Out Patient Building
No, the Vose House was at East Springfield Street. This was the Out Patient Building. It's shown twice in this collage - in the drawing in upper left, it's building #1, labeled as "General Wait Room," and in the aerial photo in lower right, it's building #7, the Out-Patient Building.
