Man walking on 128 killed when hit by a tractor-trailer

State Police report they are investigating a fatal crash around 3:45 a.m. on 128 north just past the Lexington service area - including trying to determine the identity of the man who died and what he was doing walking on the highway.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Michael Capotosto indicates that a 40-year-old man from Northampton, Pennsylvania was traveling on Route 95 Northbound between Exits 30A and 30B in a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian. That pedestrian was transported to Lahey Hospital in Burlington where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
