Pretty much every time, considering bikes aren't allowed on the road there and drivers treat it like a highway anyway.

since it is not a limited-access highway, and no signs are posted. But it's not usually a good idea to ride there.

Seriously, if you lack the cycling skills to navigate around a fallen tree limb then please stop cycling in busy urban settings. Best of luck to you. xoxo all other cyclists, pedestrians, parents pushing strollers and runners who you share non-vehicular paths with

I have to imagine that they're going to close Mem Drive asap and clear the rest of the tree as well.
Always a bummer to see a mature ciy tree go down, but it's a silver lining that no one apparently got hurt when it did.
