'Mature Poets Steal': 'Evening of Inspired Leaders' is a MassPoetry fundraiser happening on Monday, youse all.

As the old saying goes: You can take the girl out of Boston...but you can't take the Boston out of the girl who is taking a trip outside Boston. Not too long ago I received an email from MassPoetry about its Evening of Inspired Leaders fundraiser event (LMAO @ MASSPOETRY ASKING ME FOR MONEY YEAH AIGHT) happening this Monday, March 25 at 7pm at the Huntington Theatre Company.

The lineup looks pretty stacked. Is it weird new Poet Laureate of Boston won't be there though?
Anyway, there's a discount for teachers and their students to attend. It seems like a great way to offer extra credit a/k/a get out having to grade student's work (remember what an elementary school scandal it was to find out your teacher's first name?).

The details of 'Evening' are enclosed below. Let me know how it goes. I'll be packing for my trip and trying to figure it out if my Betsey Johnson telephone-shaped purse is going to be worth the trouble (because airport security doesn't understand Fashion™!) to bring on my flight. Framingham's first mayor, Yvonne Spicer, will also be attending this so go congratulate the Mayor of the Ham for Her Honor's town finally reaching municipal menarche and finally becoming a city.

Also, feel free to report back on the current status of Amanda Palmer's eyebrows (I'm not hating; "Astronaut: A Short History of Nearly Nothing" is one of my favorite songs ever).

Evening of Inspired Leaders–a fundraiser to benefit Mass Poetry–highlights the power of poetry to inspire and delight while showcasing an all-star field of leaders. Inspired by Robert Pinsky's Favorite Poem Project, our 2019 event will feature emcee Meghna Chakrabarti, host of WBUR's On Point. Funds raised at Evening of Inspired Leaders will help Mass Poetry produce its dynamic roster of free and low-cost poetry programs for thousands of people, young and old, across Massachusetts.

Run time: 90 minutes, with no intermission.
