Police: Brighton Tedeschi clerk stands up to robber with gun; guy flees, is arrested

Boston Police report an attempted holdup of the Tedeschi store at 241 Market St. in Brighton around 4:15 a.m. today that ended with the arrest of a suspect several hours later - whom police say may be connected to other recent store holdups in the neighborhood in recent months.

Police say that when Henry Nelson, 18, of Brighton, entered the store with a blue and black back pack and waved what appeared to be a gun at the clerk:

The clerk refused the suspect’s demands based on his belief that the firearm was a replica and the suspect fled out of the store without any money

On Dec. 26, Surendra Dangol, a clerk in a Jamaica Plain Tedeschi, was shot to death by a man with a gun and a blue backpack even though he fully cooperated with the robber.

Police say they are looking at Nelson's role in the other holdups and may charge him. In the meantime, he will face charges of attempted armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Innocent, etc.

That Tedeschi's had already been held up twice in the past month. This attempted hold-up makes three.

There were two perps in the previous hold-ups, so... where's the accomplice?
