Two shot, one dead, Blue Hill Avenue shut down again

Updated at 9:30 p.m.

Police are looking for a suspect who may have fired into a car on Blue Hill Avenue near Harvard Street, fatally wounding a man and injuring his female companion in front of a troubled building.

Boston Police report the two were shot around 2:40 p.m. outside 826 Blue Hill Ave., where police have conducted drug investigations in the past and which has had a history of illegal after-hours parties.

The two managed to get themselves to Boston Medical Center, where the man, 47, was pronounced dead not long after his arrival. The woman, 44, is expected to survive, police say.

This is the second time in less than a week part of Blue Hill Avenue had to be shut down for a murder investigation. Blue Hill Avenue was shut near Geneva Avenue on Friday when a man was shot to death.
