Man robs South End bank by claiming to have a bomb
Boston Police report arresting a South Carolina man on charges he robbed the Commerce Bank branch at 1320 Washington St. around 1:40 p.m.
According to police, Terrell B. Anderson, 20, entered the branch and gave a teller a note saying he had a bomb and wanted money:
The suspect was last seen fleeing the bank on foot. In short time, while canvassing the area, officers observed and located a male who matched the description of the suspect. As officers approached, the suspect began running. After losing sight of the suspect for a brief time, officers were able to relocate and apprehend the suspect in the area of 500 Harrison Ave. While apprehending the suspect, officers noted that the suspect was no longer in possession of the purple bag. A search of the immediate area enabled officers to locate a purple bag containing an undisclosed amount of US Currency and a dye pack.
