Doesn't Boylston turn into Essex st when it gets closer to Chinatown?

Not mentioning to nitpick but to get a better idea of the location where this happened.

You could very well be right. I debated calling it a "Boylston Street building" but that might make it sound like it happened in Copley Square.

It stays "Boylston" for a block or two (or three) longer than I'd imagined.

The map indicates that it happened behind St. Francis House. Just a few steps from Chinatown.

Downtown / Financial Dist / Chinatown Area A-1

Saint Francis House, in the Old Combat Zone, (not to be confused with Scully Square & the old Howard) across from the Liberty Tree building, heading towards the old Glass Slipper and the Playland Cafe, around the corner from the old Bailey's Ice Cream Parlor and the Wax Museum by the Grand Masonic Lodge.

I remember a poor old Chinese gentleman being beaten to death on Tamworth Street around 8am, right across from it in 2003, perp was arrested later that day running around stark naked.
