Man hit in the back of the head, robbed at gunpoint in the South End

Around 9:30 p.m. on W. Rutland Park by four teens with guns. At least two suspects are in custody. The victim declined medical attention.

Fake or real gun?
Perhaps a fake one since no indication it opened up his scalp.
Not the first time...
Chased a mugger in this same spot 2 years ago. Broad daylight with families everywhere. Too bad I didn't notice his lurking friend when I first gave chase. Eight stitches later they caught the idiots at the Mass Ave T stop. As for justice...mugger released on $250 cash bail and assaulter with deadly weapon (second offense) released on $500 cash bail.
Long story short - keep your head on a swivel and don't go near Sparrow Park after dark.

____ The courts don't generally treat violent street crimes like getting jumped, robbed, beaten up, very seriously. Now...if you rob a bank....that's a whole other story, they'll throw the book at you. Matter of priorities I suppose.
