Police hunt culprits in Dorchester brawl that left man near death

Boston Police report a man suffered life-threatening injuries during a fight involving as many as 30 people on Milton Avenue in Dorchester last night.

The man, who was punched unconscious and who then hit his head on the sidewalk, was "unresponsive" when police arrived at 73 Milton Ave. around 11:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd of approximately 30 or more people who appeared to be in their late teens gathered in front of the above address. In the crowd, officers observed an unresponsive male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries and requested EMS. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

Police are now looking for any photos or videos onlookers might have taken. Anybody who does have them can e-mail copies to Sgt. Det. Marc Sullivan at [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be called into 800-494-TIPS or texted, starting with TIP, to CRIME (27463).

"In 2006, at the same house where the graduation party was held, 18-year-old Jonathan Jacques, of Dorchester, was killed and four others were injured in an early morning shooting. According to reports at the time, hundreds of people had attended the party, which lasted three days. "
