Two teens arrested after gunfire on Lyford Street in Dorchester

Boston Police report arresting two teenagers - names not released because of their ages - on a variety of gun charges in the area of Lyford and Callender streets shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say officers responding to a report of gunfire there found a vehicle on Callender Street with fresh evidence of having been shot. Not long after, and not far away, officers found two teens - with a total of six 9-mm shells in their pockets. Then officers found a black Berretta px4 Storm handgun with an empty 17-round magazine for holding 9-mm shells, police say, adding the gun turned out to have been stolen in Georgia this past April.

The two were both charged with deliquncy for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, firing a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and receiving stolen property, police say.
