Presumably, the police are still investigating the bloody brawl that didn't lead to that kid's death

The Daily Free Press lets us know just how awful the fighting was at 14 Glenville Ave. on the night Shawn Dow died from a rooftop fall police say was unrelated to that brawling:

An Art Institute junior who wished to remain anonymous told The Daily Free Press on Sunday she saw students cracking beer bottles over each other's heads and smashing each other into banisters, spilling blood over the walls of the stairwell. ... A separate report from the same night, which police said may have been related to the fight inside 14 Glenville Ave., states a man walking down the street reported being smacked in the head with a ladder that cut his head open. ...

I absolutely agree with the first comment. If you knew Shawn, you'd be just as devastated as we all are.

"..the bloody brawl that didn't lead to that kid's death.."

This comment has got to be one of the most callous remarks I've ever read. YOU DON'T KNOW that the fight didn't lead to Shawn's death. THUS, why it's still under investigation and I thank God it is.

In fact, you know NOTHING about this incident other than what you've read or watched in the news. If you continue to follow his story, do it with some respect and courtesy for Shawn.

This isn't an "oop, oh well some 'kid' in Allston died." An absolutely remarkable person with all the potential in the world, who'd do anything for anyone, had his life cut short. It's not fair, nor does it make sense.

Griff is amazing. There's no other way to put it. He's missed terribly.

Rest in peace, Griff. We miss you.

When a pebble is thrown into a pond it creates a ripple. The same with Shawn, he has affected so many people and some he has never met (including myself). My heart aches for his Mother, Family, Friends, and his loss.

My daughter is a friend of Shawn's and I can not comprehend why or how this happened (emotionally or physically) it does not make any sense!

Something does not feel right about this and someone out there knows more about what happened. May your soul haunt you til you tell the truth. I have always believed that truth will prevail! And the truth about what happened will be exposed whether it is tomorrow or 20 years from now.

The only peace I can find is to know that he is a remarkable soul - he left us with individual lessons (all affected by the ripple, whether others liked him or not)and we will all learn something different from him. Peace, Love and Light to you Shawn - www.ccbfuneral.com

If you would like a career in Journalism you need to learn how to express yourself intelligently and not refer to another person as "that kid". Like you and everyone on this earth we were born, have loved ones, families, feeling, and experiences that are individualized to that person. Learn to be more humanizing in your Headline descriptions! Idiot!
