DA: Thug who killed innocent teen also planned to kill a witness

Hey, sexy ladies
Accused killer looking for love:
Antwan Carter is advertising from behind bars for some sexy ladies with whom to correspond:
"I don't have time for little kid games and I hate liars. So I treat people how I want to be treated."

Antwan Carter and Daniel Pinckney, Jr. were arraigned yesterday on first-degree murder charges for the March 14 death of Cedirick Steele - shot repeatedly in broad daylight as he waited to meet his mother to go buy a cell phone.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Carter was also indicted yesterday on a count of intimidation of a witness; prosecutors alleged he tried - from behind bars - to get friends to murder a woman who was in the car with him and Pinckney when they murdered Steele. The two pleaded innocent to their charges; both were ordered held without bail.

At their arraignment, Assistant District Attorney Paul Treseler charged Carter and Pinckney were out for revenge after an acquaintance of theirs from the Mass. Ave. Hornets gang was shot in Roxbury - but that they had no particular target in mind:

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the murder, Carter, Pinckney, and another individual were riding in Pinckney's black Pontiac in the area of Highland Avenue when they got into an altercation with another group of men. They drove a short distance, Treseler said, before Pinckney pulled over, gave Carter a gun, and instructed him on what to do next.

"Put it in your hoodie," Treseler said. "Take these gloves and put them on. Sneak up on them and shoot. Get anybody."

And so they ran across Steele, a college student and Meals on Wheels volunteer standing in front of Timilty Middle School waiting for his mom, Treseler said:

Taking the gun, Carter got out of the car and headed for Steele. He fired seven shots, striking Steele in the face, torso, and neck before returning to the car. The two men drove off.

The Suffolk County Distict Attorney's office says a woman was in the car with Carter and Pinckney - and that officials intercepted phone calls and letters from Carter at MCI-Shirley, where he was serving a one-year sentence for armed robbery, to his gang pals:

"We need to make her history," Carter allegedly said to associates in a series of letters and telephone conversations that investigators had intercepted. "If she's alive, I'm doing life."

Pinckney is now at MCI-Cedar Junction, where he continues to seek "sexy ladies" with whom to correspond.

Though the killing was tragic, we really need to look at what made these young men so angry that they would do such a thing. They may need counseling and help. I'm sure there are numerous programs that would be helpful in letting these disenfranchised men turn their lives around.

The help they need has been unavailable for 60 years.

There lies the rub. This is symptomatic of something seriously wrong with our society and culture, generally, that enables such people to commit such horrific crimes and get away with it, and have little or no chance of getting the help they need to turn their lives around.
I realize that it's necessary to take people like these young men off the streets for awhile, but there has to also be a way to really prevent stuff like that in the future. A prison term in a penatentiary is guaranteed to make them into more hardened criminals. It's more complicated than that, however.

Unfortunately, though, until the causes of this kind of horrific behaviour are pinpointed and addressed, there may be no choice but to put people like these young men behind bars.

... was probably good fathers married to their mothers, living at home with them and preaching the value of a day's pay for a day's work. And to live in a world where "sexy ladies" don't correspond with dangerous felons in prison.

We should just let them go. They won't do it again with the assistance of government programs.

Because as we all know, a government program is all you need to make up for a lack of a good father, familial stability, healthy male role models and a lifetime of listening to violent, misogynist music.

I am gonna disagree with that i feel that these two should rot in jail and burn in hell for what they did to cedirick. yes they are crazy , as a matter of faact there animals that should be put down. but that would be too easy. it doesnt matter if they get help that help aint gonna help them get out.

they dont need help, they need to be put to death by the justice system, unfortunately the liberal scumbag morons in mass. have no balls to finish these losers and show the rest of these worthless losers out there they cannot get away with terrorism in our city streets.it's ok though, eventually these little wannabe thugs all end up where they belong,in a casket, and rotting in hell for eternity!!!!!

oh wow blaming liberals for every problem. News flash, conservatives aren't any better. Besides its the entire justice system itself you should blame, not the "liberals".

Everyone is entitled to a fair trial. So if the jury is unsure 2x's there may be a reason for this.

With that being said , these 2 are not very different than alot of 15-25 yr old African American males living in inner city poverty in Boston . Gangs are their family and like any tribe or "family" , you must stay true to them and defend them.

Until there is a way to effectively deal with youth violence and prevention. And offering alternatives to youth other than gangs and street life then the population on young African American males will continue to decline...

I think the Boston Rising project makes a great effort to fight this.

Step ya knowledge upp !!!
