What's going on on Quincy Street?

UPDATE: They were looking for that hooky-playing 14-year-old, who maybe needs to have her cell phone taken away.

A correspondent reports what seems like a few dozen cruisers, including tactical units, swarming around several intersections along the Dorchester street.

Alexus Clarke.

And looks like Young Ms. Clarke has some explaining to do.

She has parents who care enough to report her missing and will likely make this a day to never forget. Even kids with effective parents make dumb mistakes and judgment errors, but they certainly don't get away with them.

Meanwhile, we're gearing up for another summer of 14 and 15 year olds drinking themselves blind in the woods and staggering out at 1 or 2 am if they are quiet enough that we don't call the cops on them. Unlike her parents, their parents couldn't give two shits where they are and what they are doing and get angry when the cops haul them in because their kids aren't worth their time to chase.

Oh well, more returnables for the kids to buy videogames with.

That girl needs more punishment than having a cell-phone taken away.

Stupid. As is the ridiculous media circus that now develops anytime some child goes missing.

What a waste of time and effort.

Has anyone done an analysis of # of Amber Alerts vs. number of children who end up actually missing / in danger?

And don't go all "if only one child is saved, it's worth it," on me.
