Gunmen preying on cabbies on Rogers Street in Cambridge

Twice in the past two days, cabbies have been robbed at gunpoint on Rogers Street, according to Cambridge Police.

Police report that around 9:27 p.m. on Sunday, a cabbie was held up by two black men:

One of the suspects held a firearm to the driver's head as the second suspect took money, the cabs keys, and the cab's dispatch radio. The suspects fled on foot towards Second St.

Around 11:27 p.m. yesterday, police report, a cabbie dispatched to Rogers Street found himself confronted by two black males:

They came around to the driver's side and placed a hard object to the back of his neck. They demanded all of his money. He gave them the cash he had on him and they took his bag containing his MA license, cell phone, fast lane tag and his cab ID. They also took his GPS that was mounted on his dashboard and they ripped out his microphone to his radio to prevent him from calling for help.
