You might not want to bring any water guns on your next trip to BU

Boston and BU police responded in force to the BU Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, 705 Commonwealth Ave., when a student reported seeing a suspicious man:
According to Boston University Police Chief Thomas Robbins, the suspect was described as a white male, approximately 22 years old, with short brown hair and wearing a heavy green coat with a fur collar. "The caller did not see a gun," Robbins says.
However, nobody was found and nobody in the building reported seeing such a person and the alert was called off.

Things Seemed to Have Gone Pretty Well
From what I can tell, the BU Police handled things pretty well. There wasn't chaos around the CAS building, most people got the emergency alerts like they were supposed to (and got e-mailed the news update about what was going on), and things are mostly back to normal. I think I saw more news vans than police cars.
Vague warnings did nobody any good
