Another fire on Peterborough Street

Channel 4 briefly mentions an apartment-building overnight on Peterborough Street in the Fenway, about six weeks after a fire took out several businesses. Anybody know more about this fire?

I think they may have the street wrong. There was a fire on Buswell Street at a large BU owned apartment.

It was indeed a fire on Peterborough street. It was a small electrical fire, no one was hurt, and there was only one apartment that was damaged (as far as I know)

Sorry to hear about your apartment and your roommate's room! At least it sounds like you all got out alive and well.

I stumbled upon your experience with the fire on the internet. I lived in Apt #7, 109 Peterborough STreet as a yong boy from 1958-1970. The neighborhood was a lot different from what it probably is today. I went to the Martin Milmore School on the corner and experienced many fires in the area. The building used to be used by a slum landlord named Maurice Gordon. Could never get anything fixed and the building was filled with roaches. I still remember the fright when the Boston Strangler was prowling the back bay. We used to put empty pop bottles in front of the door at night. There was a runour he was a lock smith.. so the bottles will tip over if the door was opened while we were asleep. Hope the apartment treats you well... the walls have many memories for my brother and I.

It was a bad night for the Boston FD. There was a fire in Brighton on Comm Ave, one on Blue Hill Ave that want to four alarms and the BU one.
All at the same time.

Then the Peterborough one, Then a small one (oil burner started it) somewhere in Dorchester, a bit later.

Busy night.

I live in Apartment 12 on the same floor. The fire dep't did a great job of getting everyone out and containing the fire. However, this is the second time in two months this building has had electrical problems that have both caused serious doubts in my mind about its the structural integrity.

And, for the second time, Sabet Management did not offer any sort of interim shelter. (we couldn't get back in until the sun was up) The best we got were two MBTA buses to sit on....all night.

I'm so glad I just re-signed my lease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it happens again, try the 24hour Ihop in brighton or the Pru. Hell, chill at Shaws for a bit.
