Flying out of Gate 32 at Terminal B

Any number of times, DSG's gotten on a flight at Gate 32, but ever since 9/11, it's felt different, because that's the gate boarded by passengers of American Airlines Flight 11, flown into the World Trade Center:

... The next time you're in that end of Terminal B, walk to the right side past Starbucks. Look out the window near Gate 32. The flag's there, paying tribute to everyone who was killed on a gorgeous late summer morning. If you're like me, you might say a small prayer in memory of all who went to an airport or to work that day, and never returned home.

Every time I look at that American flag at gate B-32, I want to stop every passenger who is rushing by, or upset about delays, or angered about the lack of an outlet to plug in their laptop. I want each and every one of them to look up at that flag and know that as they are about to partake in the amazing miracle of human flight that they should be happy to arrive at their destination safely. I maybe a little biased as my partner has been an American Airlines Flight Attendant for countless years, but the next time you are getting off the plane and the crew says goodbye, give them back a simple "thank you".
