Spare Change News to print a Mohammed cartoon

The distributed-by-homeless paper will print one of the Danish cartoons in this week's issue:

In defense of free speech and accurate eeporting, Spare Change News will publish one of the controversial Mohammed cartoons tomorrow morning with an accompanying editorial defending our decision and
criticizing The Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Boston Phoenix for not printing the images.

The cartoon and editorial will appear on the op-ed page. A teaser with the controversial cartoon will be above the banner on Page 1. The op-ed page content shows the Mohammed cartoon along with an image from the destruction caused by the recent rioting in the Middle East with a caption stating: "What is more offensive?"

Dear Sir,

Is there a need to add offensive adjectives to groups of people? Where is your sensitivity towards other people's rights? Everyone wants to defend his/her human rights but usually forgets that he/she 'tramples' upon another person's human rights... I don't quite agree with the reactions of the rioters. But for them to behave that way, it might be something about strong they feel about their religion. Wouldn't fellow Christians be angry if Jesus or Mother Mary were insulted? Anyway, I believe that there's a way to handle the problem. A more peaceful way. At the same time, I also believe that there should be a limit to every action even if it is supposed to be something humorous ... Moderation is good, no?

That is all. Thank you.
